what do you consider elegant?

I know this is really random...but I am curious what you all consider elegant. If you were going to an elegant party, what would you expect to see, eat, smell, wear, see other's wearing, hear etc?

Anything will help. I am writing a book. I just thought I'd try to brainstorm...and see what my blogger friends had to say :)

I Love Christmas!

I love Christmas. Here are some pictures of Myles I edited, but as you can see he wasn't really into smiling...

I have also included some decorations I made. The bulb on the tree, and the hanging wreaths. The bulb has a slice of ribbon in it, with part of a candy cane and tissue paper. It looks better in real life though. The wreaths, my mom use to have some. All i did was cut up strips of material and added bows. Normally I would hang things from them and put them in the window but I didn't this time. I love the little red one.

I loved these pictures of Myles. He just grabbed the bow off the gift it was so cute!

To my baby

As a mother, Myles, you make me strong.
I love you.
I am more patient with you...
which is an accomplishment I never thought I'd have
Your tiny body is adorable,
so little,
soft
your baby skin is so precious
fingers and feet
no words to describe the beauty they are.
the way you arch your back, when your mad
or playing
Your adorable smile
It makes me feel wonderful as a mother.
Your social smile is cute too,
everyone who sees it thinks so.
You are getting bigger
Every few weeks I see it.
You are trying to stand,
and roll independently
your own personality is already starting to show
how you recognize Daddy.
and Me.
We spend so much time together
And I think about when your older
I love every stage.
The way your developing
I don't know if this is what they call "Mother's Love"
I don't like the way that sounds.
I, Myles, have a deep connection with you.
A Love, A Promise.
Like when I vowed before God, and your Daddy Andrew,
That I would always love them, I love you too.
I think you know that though.
And may I always be there for you in your time of need.
My baby.
My Myles.

For Moroniah (My sister in Law)

It isn't always,
the way you want it to be.
But you have to try.
Giving up isn't an option.
Just go go go.
Until you can't stop.
It's like dancing to music.
Or singing to Shakira
I want it.
I need it,
I am constantly changing my mind.
This is who I am.
Latino. Woman. Sexy. Independent.
Mother of two
Wife.
I'm going to do what makes me feel...
Independent, good about myself.

But I am also passionate.

Poem. no name. not really sure what it's about either...

consider this, when in your silent notion
all is gone when all is nothing
and nothing is the life you've chosen
remember me
again today
my heart is beaten. blood.
keep it strong before lives gone
Today is nothing unless you make it
meaningful.
I'd share with you.
If for a day I thought you'd care
or consider my frozen anticipation
before it's water on grass in the morning.

birthday,christmas.costcoparty.weirdo's.

So, my 21st Birthday is coming up! Kinda crazy! I'm pretty excited...

So here's some things about birthdays and me...

My favorite present I ever got was from my parents. They bought me a really nice MP3 5 disk player.
My cousin made me a blanket once, which I love!
A friend bought me a jewelry box with a fairy on it. That was probably one of the only gifts a guy gave me that I kept.
Andrew bought me a Kitchen Aide, which I LOVE!
I have a sister that painted some wood letters making my initials. I thought that was very thoughtful.
A friend in college bought me a game called, 'it came to pass', which is really fun.
This year another sister is buying me a print for my wall!! Soooooo excited to be getting pictures for my wall this year for my Birthday!

Now I love gifts... and I want gifts for my birthday...In fact I think people should give me gifts for my birthday :), but I don't like opening gifts in front of people. Perhaps it's because I don't like surprises that much. I like the idea of surprised but the anticipation kills me. Not only that, but I feel like saying thank you isn't enough...so I feel bad when I open them and then give this little thank you. I would prefer to open them without them there, so that I can just take my time with it, and then send them a note or something...but that's not gonna happen.

It is also kinda weird to me, because Andrew buys me TONS of gifts for my birthday and I'm not use to it. Birthday's weren't huge in my family like his. Christmas is huge...but not birthdays. I like it, it's just different.

Christmas is coming soon! I decorated my tree a while ago, and it is so pretty! We have a full size tree from my mother in law, and we got decorations from a thrift store. We also have a bunch from over the years that Andrew collected. And candy canes, and bows... My favorite though, is we have some decorations that Andrew's grandpa (I think it was his grandpa) made during the depression when they didn't have any money. I thought that was really cool!! I LOVE Christmas! I also like that there is snow outside. It is so beautiful!

Today I got a rocking chair and baby swing for free from KSL. kinda cool, because I was telling Andrew that's what I wanted to get for the baby for Christmas...but wasn't going to because we don't have a lot of money right now. I don't like this season because it's expensive...lol

We went to Costco for a party at Andrew's work. It was really fun! His work gave everyone $100 and then we played games and won $35! For throwing footballs and stuff. I won a cake walk too. Anyways... Andrew has really been wanting a Wii for over a year or so now. So since we had 'free' money, I told him we could get one. Sometimes I think we spend money on funny things, but hey, I guess that's what I get for marrying a guy whose into electronics.

When we were there, there was a short guy hitting on me who was probably in his 40's. Now, I wasn't with Andrew at the time, and I didn't have the baby, and I wasn't wearing my ring, but SERIOUSLY? What do you all think about 40 year old's hitting on 20 year old's? He first was just talking to me...So I talked back. It seemed like he was being flirtatious so I started talking about my husband, since that normally gets guys to stop. (He didn't) But once he started putting his had on my shoulder, I tried to put my cart between us, (we were waiting in a line), and stopped talking to him. As soon as Andrew came back he didn't say a word! I realize I wasn't wearing my ring...but I scratch Myles and he starts crying. I don't want to hurt him...and we hardly ever go out without him. Normally I would wear it though. I mean he wasn't just some HS kid having fun and joking around. It was really weird.

oh and one last thing... we got a washer and dryer as well as a rug!  happy days!

the picture I found on google. Not my picture.

Myles update

Myles is getting so cute! It's kind of crazy to see pictures of him because although I think that he's little, these pictures just show how old he is getting. He is starting to be much more independent. Trying to hold his own bottle, grabbing and sucking on toys. He is starting to teeth, his mouth is always watering, and he has a runny nose sometimes (because of the teething.) He has a social smile. It is so cute! He loves to observe things. I love how he laughs and is so happy. I started feeding him baby food a while ago. He's gotten very good at it. I think he may be trying to crawl...scoot...

We'll we are heading out to a party for Andrew's work.
